Plan of Correction

715.7(b)  LICENSURE Dispensing or Administering Staffing

(b) Dispensing time shall be prorated for patient census. There shall be sufficient dispensing staff to ensure that all patients are medicated within 15 minutes of arrival at the dispensing area.
Observations
Based on a review of facility documentation, the facility failed to have sufficient dispensing staff to ensure that all patients are medicated within 15 minutes of arrival at the dispensing area.

On January 18, 2022, the Dosing Facility Dashboard showed that the average dosing time was 36.7 minutes.

Plan of Correction
ED will work with the Physician Asst who has scheduling oversight in the medical department to ensure adequate coverage for dispensing, particularly following holidays, to ensure all three windows are open for dispensing so wait times remain below 15 minutes. Dosing Dashboard will be reviewed by ED daily to ensure on-going compliance. In addition, the Physician Asst will be trained on dosing procedures by 4/15/22 in order to serve as a back up in the case of a nursing call-off.
