Observations
Based on observation during the physical plant tour, the facility failed to ensure fire extinguishers are inspected and approved annually by the local fire department or Fire Extinguisher Company.
The findings include:
During the physical plant tour on November 2, 2009 it was observed that the fire extinguishers located in the dormitories on floors one, two and three and in the kitchen had not been inspected within the last year. The last inspection that was documented on the tag was September 2008.

Plan of Correction
On 11/6/2009, Cintas Fire Protection, Pittstown, PA, inspected all extinguishers in the Fountain Springs/New Destiny facilities. A report is on file in the facilities. By 12/1/2009 all house managers will have been instructed in the procedure for checking extinguishes daily during house runs and signing-off on the inspection tag monthly. Any problems will be reported to the Program Director immediately. The Program Director will ensure the procedure is followed and that all fire extinguishers are inspected and approved annually by a Fire Extinguisher Company |
