Plan of Correction When it was discovered that there was a heater which was not permanently mounted or installed in counselor #4's office, the heater was immediately removed from the facility by the counselor.
At our next weekly staff meeting on December 13, 2016 the Director reminded all staff of the licensing regulations prohibiting space heaters from being in the facility. We were in full compliance with this standard by December 13, 2016.
In order to maintain compliance with this licensing standard going forward, all new employees at the time of hire will continue to be required to read all the licensing standards which apply to our facility. After they are read, the Director or Assistant Administrator will specifically review the standard relating to portable heaters and ensure that the new staff member understands they are prohibited. In addition, staff will be reminded during staff meetings at the beginning of each winter that they should not have space heaters in their offices, and if they are cold, should instead turn up the thermostat on the furnace. |
