Observations
Based on a physical plant inspection on June 8, 2017, the facility failed to ensure that the facility structures were maintained in good repair.
The metal fire escape, between the second and third floor, was heavily rusted and the railing had separated from the metal platform.
The metal fire escape, on second floor, was heavily rusted and the metal platform was no longer firmly attached to the metal structure.
This information was reviewed with the facility staff during the licensing inspection.

Plan of Correction
The fire escapes on the 2nd and 3rd floors will be fixed and repaired by 7/31/17. The rust will be removed and the fire escapes will be secured and rendered safe. Malvern Institute will be working with an outside contractor who specializes in this type of repair and it will be completed by 7/31/17. Malvern Institute maintenance will conduct monthly facility checks to catch and fix any issues before create unsafe conditions. |
