The findings include:
Complaints were received by the Division of Drug and Alcohol Program Licensure on November 13, 2009 from residents stating that food they had just purchased was going to be ruined because there was no room in the two refrigerators that were provided for use by 25 residents. The complaints stated that the men were required to buy food for 9 meals over the weekend. Based on an interview with the Facility Director the men are encouraged to participate in the life skills training which includes purchasing just enough food for 6 meals over the weekend, and learning to budget their food resources. She stated that the men are to be instructed that the facility does provide for meals over the weekend. The facility failed to properly orient some of the residents to facility procedures regarding weekend meals.

Plan of Correction L1741
The facility failed to properly orient some of the residents to facility procedures regarding weekend meals. Another Way held a group where all the current residents were able to voice their concerns this meeting was lead by the Director. The Director is working on having a third client refrigerator freezer combo placed in the snack area this will be accomplished by 11/30/09. The facility director is including as part of our resident handbooks a statement on food management the signature page confirming the resident received it and the therapist will be responsible for placing it in the record. The facility will ensure the residents are receiving orientation as policy states monitored by Lead Therapist. The facility will be in full compliance by 11/30/09.
