INITIAL COMMENTS

This report is a result of an onsite licensure renewal and methadone monitoring inspection. The inspection was conducted on August 3-4, 2017 by staff from the Division of Drug and Alcohol Program Licensure. Based on the findings of the onsite inspection, New Directions Healthcare, LLC was found not to be in compliance with the applicable chapters of 28 PA Code which pertain to the facility. The following deficiencies were identified during the inspection:

704.6(a) LICENSURE Clinical Supervisor Qualifications
704.6. Qualifications for the position of clinical supervisor.
(a) A drug and alcohol treatment project shall have a full-time clinical supervisor for every eight full-time counselors or counselor assistants, or both.

Observations
The Staffing Requirements Facility Summary Report was reviewed on August 3, 2017. The equivalent of 8.71 full-time counselors are employed within the project. This would require at least 1 full-time clinical supervisor. The project currently does not have any full-time clinical supervisors.
These findings were reviewed with facility staff during the licensing process.

Plan of Correction
On 8/14/2017 the project Director will also assume role as Facility Director. This notice was faxed and emailed to DDAP. The former Facility Director will assume the full time role of Clinical Supervisor. The Facility Director will ensure that there will be a full time clinical Director for every 8 full time counselors. New Directions Healthcare employs a lead counselor that completed Supervisory training thru DDAP training. |
