This report is a result of an on-site complaint investigation conducted on January 24, 2024 by staff from the Bureau of Program Licensure. Based on the findings of the on-site complaint investigation, Medmark Treatment Centers of Pennsylvania dba MedMark was found not to be in compliance with the applicable chapters of 28 PA Code which pertain to the facility.

705.8 (1) LICENSURE Heating and cooling.
705.8. Heating and cooling.
The residential facility:
(1) Shall have a heating and cooling ventilation system that is adequate to maintain an indoor temperature of at least 65F in the winter. When indoor temperatures exceed 90F, mechanical ventilation such as fans or air conditioning shall be used.

Observations
Based on a physical plant inspection, the facility failed to maintain an indoor temperature of at least 65 degrees Farenheit in the winter.
A physical plant inspection was conducted on January 24, 2024 during the course of a complaint investigation. At the time of the physical plant inspection, the facility was observed to be 62 degrees Farenheir. It was reported that the heating unit was not functioning and need of repair.
These findings were discussed with facility staff.

Plan of Correction
The new rooftop unit was replaced for the front lobby area on 2/1/24. The area is heated and showing a temperature of 69 degrees on the thermostat currently. The Facility Director will ensure ongoing compliance with maintaining the necessary temperatures by monitoring the thermostat temperatures regularly to ensure a temperature of at least 65 degrees. Any indication of malfunction will result in immediate contact with our HVAC company. |
