Observations
Based on a physical plant inspection, conducted between 12:30 pm and 1:00 pm, the facility failed to ensure that all heaters were permanently mounted or installed as there was a space heater located in an open loft area of the outreach area of the facility.
This finding was reviewed with facility staff during the licensing inspection.

Plan of Correction
The policy, Health and Safety 1.H.2., was revised/updated and now states: 16. Heating and cooling: heaters that are not permanently mounted or installed are not permitted in the facility.
All space heaters have been removed from the facility by Director of Operations and Operations Supervisor of Behavioral Techs. Both Director of Operations and Operations Supervisor of Behavioral techs will make sure to check the facility monthly to make sure that there are no space heaters or any heaters that are not permanently installed in the facility.
All staff were informed of the updated policy and will continue to receive annual fire safety training. |
