Plan of Correction In order to comply with Act 73 of 2007 and, effective immediately, all newly hired employees will be required to submit to an FBI Criminal History Report as a condition of employment. All new employees will submit to the background check within 30 days of hire. The Human Resource Specialist will initiate this process. The employee will be provided with the web address and phone number to Cogent Systems and will adhere to all registration and background check procedural requirements necessary. Employees will also be provided with addresses to both of the local Cogent Systems fingerprinting sites. Both sites are within 15 miles of Confront. The employee will then provide the completed Criminal History Report to the Confront Program Director within 6 weeks (this is the maximum length of time that the Cogent Systems website indicates it will take to receive the results). New employees will not be assigned to any cases or groups involving children or adolescents until such time that the FBI Criminal History Report has been returned and with proper clearance. An employee whose background check finds him/her to be unsuitable to work with children or adolescents will have their employment terminated immediately.
With regard to the all current employees who had not yet submitted to the clearance check; all will provide proof of having done so by 2/26/2010. In addition, none will be assigned any new cases or groups involving children or adolescents until such time that that they are cleared by the Criminal History Report.
