Plan of Correction Within 24 hours of the inspection, the Executive Director hired a contractor to replace the old air conditioning unit with a new, high-capacity unit to cool the facility's lobby, kitchen, and all residential bedrooms, which had exceeded 90°F. Facility staff also repositioned fans to improve airflow efficiency and reduce heat concentration in enclosed spaces. New thermostats have been installed to allow monitoring of indoor temperatures.
The installation was to be completed by June 25, 2025.
The on-duty House Coordinator will monitor the indoor temperature daily to ensure all interior rooms remain under 90°F. Furthermore, during hot weather forecasts (above 85°F), the on-duty House Coordinator will use proactive cooling strategies to prevent temperatures from exceeding limits. In the event temperatures do exceed the limits, the on-call HVAC specialist will be contacted by the on-duty House Coordinator to address the issue. |
