Plan of Correction
Observations Based on a communication with the facility staff and information received from complainants, the facility failed to follow their policy for promptly removing UDS samples from the collection area prior to another client being able to access this area while providing a sample, which increased the chance of misidentification of or tampering with specimens.
Plan of Correction Upon request for UDS, nursing staff provides patient with urine cup and seal for cup. Upon submission of sample, nurse immediately goes into lab area to verify and collect sample, which is placed into refrigerator until pick up.
Nurse supervisor is responsible for monitoring nursing staff and ensuring that this procedure is followed for each submission. |
