Initial Comments:


This report is the result of an unannounced recertification that was initiated on January 22, 2021, and completed March 23, 2021, at Allegheny General Hospital - Transplant Center by the Pennsylvania Department of Health - Division of Acute and Ambulatory Care at the request of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). It was determined that the facility was in compliance with Part 482 - Conditions of Participation For Hospital - Subpart E - Requirements for Specialty Hospital - 482.68 Special requirements for transplant centers.

The recertification survey included the following types of organ transplant programs:

AHO - Adult Heart-only
AKO - Adult Kidney-only
APO - Adult Pancreas-only
ALI - Adult Liver
