Please be aware that 2023-24 MCARE surcharge letters and invoices were e-mailed to Nursing Home Administrators on March 4, 2024. Please make sure you received yours. The email came from mdecarmine@pa.gov Please check your spam folder before calling about a missing invoice.
Included in each e-mail attachment is a statement for the amount due, to the Department, by June 1, 2023. Scroll to the third page of the attachment for your facility’s invoice.
Checklist so your payment will be credited correctly:
____ Did you include a copy of the invoice with your check?
____ Did you add the facility license number and reference Act 52 on the check?

Act 52 of 2007 authorizes the Department to assess an administrative penalty of $1,000 per day on facilities that fail to pay the surcharge within 60 days from the date of the notice.
