This report is a result of an on-site complaint investigation conducted on April 27, 2017 by staff from the Division of Accountability and Program Improvment. Based on the findings of the on-site complaint investigation, Mountain Laurel Recovery Center was found not to be in compliance with the applicable chapters of 28 PA Code which pertain to the facility. Therefore, a corrective action plan is required. |

709.32. Medication control.
(a) Projects which furnish pharmaceutical services shall comply with all applicable Federal, State and local ordinances, statutes and regulations regarding the storing, compounding, administering or dispensing of medication.

Observations Based on a review of a client's medication, the facility failed to comply with the proper administering and dispensing of medication for client #1.The findings include:Based on a review of a client's medication log on April 27, 2017, the facility failed to comply with the storing, compounding, administering or dispensing of medication. According to client # 1's records, the client had been given prescribed medication that was another client's. The medication was "borrowed" until the facility could get client # 1's prescription filled the next day. Interviews with staff confirmed that the client's prescription had not been filled because the client was admitted during the night and the pharmacy did not open until the next day. Staff interviewed confirmed they had supplied the medication to client # 1 with medication that had been prescribed for another client.
