Observations Based on a physical plant inspection of a residential building on the facility's campus, the facility failed to maintain a manual fire alarm system that is audible throughout a residence where four or more residents will reside.
The findings include:
A physical plant inspection of a residential building on the facility's campus was conducted on April 15, 2015, for a capacity increase. The residence inspected is a two-story building. The residence's first level consists of three bedrooms with a total of seven beds. The residence's second level consist of a two-bedroom suite with a total of four beds. The facility failed to maintain a manual fire alarm that is audible throughout the entire residence and accessible to all residents.
These findings were reviewed with facility staff during the licensing process.

Plan of Correction The fire alarm system for the building was tested by certified experts. All of the bedrooms have duplicate fire alarms and two independent systems with both internal and external horns. An external pull station and fire extinguisher are being added on the ground floor. This work will be completed and the system tested by May 8, 2015 |
