INITIAL COMMENTS

This report is a result of a renewal on-site licensure inspection conducted on April 12, 2023 by staff from the Bureau of Program Licensure. Based on the findings of the on-site inspection, 7G0W6701 TNH Sober Living was found to not be in compliance with the applicable chapters of 28 PA Code, Chapter 717 which pertains to Recovery House licensing.

Plan of Correction

§ 717.30(b)(1)  LICENSURE Safety and emergency procedures - Exits

§ 717.30. Safety and emergency procedures. (b) Exits. The licensee shall: (1) Ensure that stairways, hallways and exits from rooms and from the drug and alcohol recovery house are unobstructed.
Observations
Based on a physical plant inspection of the recovery house, it was found the recovery house failed to ensure that all exits from rooms remained unobstructed.

These findings were reviewed with recovery house staff during the licensing process.

Plan of Correction
The House Manager met with the Resident Lead and communicated the importance of the emergency escape remaining unobstructed. The furniture was rearranged in a way that it would not obstruct the fire escape. The resident lead will continue to monitor the exit to ensure furniture is not placed in front of the escape moving forward.
